Payment & Refund Policy
Effective date: October 5, 2026
This policy applies to payments made to RCKD Consulting & Realty, LLC and its affiliated companies. Payments are owed to the company named in your lease or agreement. This policy does not change any signed agreement. Where a signed lease, services agreement, or purchase agreement says something different, the signed agreement controls.
Rent
Rent is due under the terms of each signed lease. Payments by card or bank transfer are applied to the tenant's account and are not refundable, except for overpayments or as required by the lease or Alabama law. Late fees and returned payment fees apply as stated in the lease. Security deposits are held and returned as stated in the lease and as required by Alabama law.
Short-term and furnished stays
Stays booked and paid through Airbnb are governed by Airbnb's payment, cancellation, and refund policies. Stays found through Furnished Finder or other listing sites are governed by the signed lease, including rent, deposit, and cancellation terms.
Renovation, development, and consulting services
Work is billed as defined in each signed services agreement, which may include a deposit or retainer before work begins and progress payments as work is completed. Each progress invoice covers work already completed. Payments for completed work are non-refundable, subject to the warranty and dispute terms of the services agreement and applicable law. Whether a deposit or retainer is refundable is stated in the agreement. Disputes over workmanship are handled under the terms of the agreement.
Property sales
Earnest money and all payments connected to the purchase of a property are governed by the signed purchase agreement. Earnest money is held and released as stated in the purchase agreement and as required by Alabama law.
Payment methods
We accept payment by bank transfer (ACH) and by credit or debit card through our third-party payment processor. A processing fee may apply to credit card payments and is shown before you pay. No fee applies to debit card or bank transfer (ACH) payments. RCKD does not store card or bank account numbers.
Returned payments
A payment returned for insufficient funds or any other reason may be charged a returned payment fee as stated in the lease or agreement, up to the amount Alabama law allows. The original balance remains due.
Overpayments and refunds
Overpayments and approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 10 business days of approval.
Cancellations
Leases and services agreements may be cancelled only as their written terms allow.
Billing disputes and chargebacks
Contact us before filing a dispute with your bank or card issuer. Most billing issues can be resolved directly and faster.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed. The version in effect when you signed your agreement applies to that agreement unless the agreement says otherwise.
