DaMond Davis — Principal
RCKD Corporation · Founded 2024 · Montgomery, Alabama
DaMond Davis is the founder and Principal of RCKD Corporation, a real estate investment and operations platform based in Montgomery, Alabama. He founded the company in 2024.
RCKD acquires, renovates and operates income-producing residential property across several strategies: Section 8 and workforce housing, mid-term corporate and furnished housing, short-term and TDY lodging, redevelopment and residential homebuilding. The platform operates across Montgomery, Tuskegee, Millbrook, Prattville, Birmingham and Huntsville.
Most of what RCKD buys is not broken. It has been overlooked. A house that has sat vacant on a street where families still live is a problem for the whole block, and bringing it back changes more than the parcel it sits on. That is the thesis the platform is built on: improve the asset, serve the resident, protect the investment, strengthen the community.
RCKD operates what it renovates rather than selling and moving on. Owning the outcome is the only way to know whether the work was any good, and it is why the company's renovation standards are written against how a house performs over years rather than how it photographs on the day it lists. DaMond carries direct financial exposure in every project. Decisions get made by someone with money in the deal, which is a different kind of decision than one made on someone else's behalf.
Alongside RCKD, DaMond serves as Managing Member of Capital City Development Group, a partner-led development platform focused on attainable infill housing, targeted residential rehabilitation and city-aligned revitalization through public-private partnerships. That development work informs how RCKD underwrites and how long it is willing to hold.
DaMond retired from the United States Army in 2025 as a Lieutenant Colonel, after nearly thirty years of service. He commanded a battalion and served as Chief of Staff, Deputy Commander and Inspector General at the four-star level. He was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service during a fifteen-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and the Army Commendation Medal with Valor Device for actions under hostile conditions in Iraq. Thirty years of planning, executing and being held accountable for outcomes is not a different job from this one. It is the same job with different stakes.
He holds a Master of Arts in Business Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from Austin Peay State University, and is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery, Legacy Class XLII.
DaMond serves as a Board Member of the Montgomery Military and Veterans Commission and has directed the Wyndall Ivey Scholarship Fund since 2015, which has awarded twenty scholarships to date. RCKD sponsors the Montgomery CrossFire 12U softball team.
